  BIRDING CLUB PHOTO ALBUM

The Pelican Landing Birdwatching Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30am at the north end of the Community Center parking lot unless noted otherwise in the schedule. Meetings are field trips to a variety of habitats in the area. Carpools are arranged at the Community Center on the day of the field trip so participants should be prepared to drive or contribute toward gasoline. Those with pressing afternoon appointments will want to drive by themselves. Participants should bring a sack lunch, binoculars, field guides, insect repellent, and shoes and clothing suitable for each habitat. Most trips will end around 2pm. Comprehensive information concerning directions, entrance fees, and logistics for each field trip is sent to club members by email prior to the trip, so interested residents should register their email addresses and telephone numbers with Kim Adams, the club’s organizer for the 2017-2018 season. Kim can be reached at (239) 494-1543 or kdadams@me.com. There are no dues for this resident club...just enthusiasm and curiosity about Florida's resident and migratory birds.

Please note that this is a tentative schedule which is subject to change up to the week of the field trip. Hurricane Irma has damaged some of the birding areas and unusually high water has made some paths impassable. Areas will be scouted as each date approaches in order to evaluate their suitability for birding. Emails to club members will inform participants of any changes, so be sure to register your email address with the club’s organizer if you are interested in participating.
