Amenity Advisory Group Information
Pickleball is a fun and very social game that is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton
court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted 2 inches lower.
Pickleball is similar to tennis, but with several differences. A pickleball typically moves at 1/3 of the
average speed of a tennis ball and the court is under 1/3 the total area of a tennis court.
The ball used is similar to a Wiffle® ball. The ball and the lower net allow the game to be accessible
to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players who are up for
a challenge to test themselves.
Pickleball uses a paddle which is similar in appearance to a ping pong paddle, but about
the size of a racquetball racquet.
Pickleball is popular with all age groups because it is easy for beginners to learn, but can
develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.
