The Sailing Center is located at
the Weeks Fish Camp off of Coconut Road
>MAP. A fleet of sunfish are available to residents
for sailing in Estero Bay.
Residents must qualify
(demonstrate sailing competence) in order to sail a PLCA sailboat in Estero
Bay. Lessons and qualification sessions are available. Only those residents
with a valid PLCA photo ID designated for sailing will be permitted to check out
a vessel.
The
Sailing Center is made up of various volunteer committees including Instruction,
Boats & Equipment, Racing, Safety, and Social Events. This variety of activities affords
residents, who do not wish to sail on their own, the camaraderie of others
through volunteerism. Past sailing activities include an annual luncheon,
informal ‘salty talk’ gatherings, off-site excursions, ‘Sunset
Sailing Sundays’ and a Commodore’s Ball.
For those of you who would enjoy a
new adventure or want to renew sailing skills with neighbors, the Pelican
Landing Sailing Center is the place to be!
